Dr Jennifer Long is an optometrist and a Certified Professional Ergonomist. She has been affiliated with the School of Optometry and Vision Science since 1995 in various clinical, research, teaching and professional services roles. Her current involvement with the School is a lecturer and research project supervisor in the undergraduate optometry program.
Dr Long completed a PhD in 2012 on the topic of work-related musculoskeletal discomfort in Australian optometrists. Her current professional interest is visual ergonomics. Dr Long is the Chairperson of the International Ergonomics Association Visual Ergonomics Technical Committee, Past-president of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society of Australia, a member of the Standards Australia SF006 Eye and Face Protection committee, and an editorial board member of WORK: A journal of prevention, assessment and rehabilitation. She has authored more than 25 peer-reviewed papers and two book chapters.
